Step 1: Setup Office Mail.

You may want to change the local ports in Office Mail. The most common reason for this is if you have an anti-virus program running, such as Norton, which will be checking your email on the default ports (25 for SMTP and 110 for POP) and conflicting with Office Mail.

Click on Tools, Settings and then select the General tab at the top. You can see that at the bottom the ports are set to the default values of 110 and 25.

Step 2: Change the ports.

We are going to change the ports by adding 5000 to each value, changing them to 5110 for POP and 5025 for SMTP.

Then click on OK to save the changes.

Step 3: Change the Outlook account.

You must remember to also change the settings in your email client. Edit each account which sends to and receives from Office Mail. The port settings are usually in the Advanced tab as we can see from out Outlook Express example.
