Scan2PDF X: Scan to PDF ActiveX

Scan2PDF X

Scan2PDF X is a new browser-based scan to PDF system. Using is as easy as 1-2-3:
1. You direct your users to your Scan2PDF X web-page
2. They scan one or more pages
3. They hit the make/send button and the resulting PDF is then saved, emailed or sent via FTP depending on your choice.

You can now centralize document management by controlling the scan, PDF generation and the destination of the produced document (via save, email or FTP). On top of all that there is zero deployment - no installation files or version management!

Key features:
- Browser based: Scan2PDF X runs in Internet Explorer, on any Windows system. The location is up to you - the local PC, the LAN, your intranet or even your website.
- Maximum control: When setting up the html page that contains Scan2PDF X you can control all aspects of the application including scan resolution, maximum pages, PDF output, email and FTP details
- Zero deployment: Anyone trying to distribute an application will appreciate a browser based system - you simply send an email to deployment targets with the link to the web-page containing Scan2PDF X. Updates are automatic, so everyone will always use the latest version.
- Documents can be scanned locally but saved remotely - the ultimate in centralizing your documents, paper documents are converted to PDFs and can then be sent to you via email or FTP.
- Instant upload to the Internet - using FTP you can scan directly to a website allowing instant public access to paper documents.
- Easy to use - your staff and customers will have no problem using Scan2PDF X, particularly as there is no installation.
- Fax alternative - put Scan2PDF X on your website and customers can email you their documents - faster, cheaper, more secure and better quality than standard faxing.
- Multiple license types - choose the license type that most suits your needs, from per-seat, unlimited or pay-as-you-go.

Case studies:

Who would use Scan2PDF X? Here are some examples:
Standard use - Company - puts Scan2PDF X on their intranet with an unlimited license allowing all users to convert paper documents to PDFs, which they can save to a local disk or a server.
MAPI fax alternative - Company
- the same large company puts Scan2PDF X on their website in a password protected directory allowing customers to 'fax' documents. The scan resolution is set to 200 dpi and the PDFs are password protected and sent via MAPI.
FTP/SMTP document submission - School/College - puts Scan2PDF X on their website allowing students to instantly scan and submit their assignments. FTP or SMTP can be used and a permanent copy will be made as well as the submitter's name and time of submission.
Instant Internet upload - Golf Club - a single license will allow a golf club to scan and upload (using FTP) the results of a competition without any html. From putting the printout of the results in the scanner it takes 3 clicks to upload to the internet (scan, send, send). Competitors can then look up the results pretty much as soon as they have been printed.
Document management - Company - Any company with many sites operating with paper (for example car dealerships) can have staff at each office visit a dedicated page on their website and scan all that day's contracts and paperwork. The PDF would be encrypted and the sent via FTP to the head office.

Each of these case studies are demonstrated in our online demonstration.
