:: Download PhotoAssist ::

Windows 95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP:

file: pa_inst.exe (740 kb)

Features:
Input: Downloading pictures is easy; A couple of clicks will transfer every picture held in the camera into PhotoAssist.
Gallery: Every photo is automatically stored in the Gallery for future use. The images are saved as jpeg format will be kept forever. Apart from the main Gallery, new galleries can be created and the images freely moved around between galleries. This makes it incredibly easy to manage hundreds of photos, all without the need to save to file!
Print: You can print as many as 20 photos on one sheet of A4. This is true WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) printing, as the PhotoAssist print page shows exactly what is on the page. You can move and resize any photo and add up to 20 photos.
Email: PhotoAssist makes emailing pictures so easy - type in the address (or get a contact from your regular address book), type a subject and a message and then add images from the Gallery. Click on Send and the email is on its way!
JPeg Compression: PhotoAssist uses the latest Intel JPeg Libraries to achieve amazing compression - this means that emailed photos won't take as long to send or receive!
Free to try:
PhotoAssist is free to try - you can install and run PhotoAssist at no cost. If you like it you can register it for $14 (£9.50). It is fully functional and will work for 10 downloads (ie 250 photos at 25 per download) after which you will be reminded to register.

2 for 1:
If you register PhotoAssist then you will also get a ScanAssist registration for free! ScanAssist is the sister-product and is brilliant for scanners! Note that the ScanAssist registration only applied on the same PC as the PhotoAssist installation.

Experiment:

To test the speed and ease of use, we ran an experiment using a leading imaging application running against PhotoAssist to do the following, using a digital camera:

1. Download 24 pictures at 1024x768
2. Browse through them and select the 10 best
3. Print 8 of the photographs on one page
4. Email all 10 photos to a friend

The results are as follows:

Job Leading imaging application PhotoAssist
1. Download images Managed, but the screen is now a mess! 30 seconds After 3 clicks I am told that all 24 photos are now in the Gallery! 30 seconds
2. Browse photos Looking through 24 images this size is difficult and I can't compare photos. Eventually took a rough guess at the 10 best photos! 5 minutes
All the photos are visible in the Gallery and clicking on any photo will enlarge it! It was very easy to pick the 10 best and delete the rest in 1 minute.
3. Print This was tough. I had to copy and paste all 8 images from the image app to my word processor where it took ages to format the pictures onto one page. 12 minutes In the print page it was easy to add, arrange and resize the 8 photos on the page and the printout was perfect! 1 minute
4. Email I had to save each image to disk and then start my email program and attach the 10 files. I had to assume that the files I saved were the correct ones. 10 minutes I was able to create an email and then add photos from the Gallery with ease. I could even preview them while I was composing the email. 2 minutes
Total time We got there in the end, but the time for all jobs was over 27 minutes! PhotoAssist was a joy to use, very fast and intuitive. We managed to complete the 4 tasks in under 5 minutes!
